How to Stop Google Chrome from Storing Browser History
Google chrome stores the history file on your computer. If you limit chrome to modify that file you can stop chrome from recording your browsing session.
First we have to manually clear the browser history.
Step 1: Open Google chrome.
Step 2: Press Ctrl + H.
Step 3: Click “Clear browsing data“.
Now your browser history is erased.
Then we have to restrict chrome from accessing the history file. Before doing this close the chrome browser. Follow these steps to limit chrome.
Go to C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
Note: In order to see the AppData folder, you must enable “show hidden files“.
In the default folder you will find a file named “History“.
Right click the history file and Choose properties.
That’s it! Now your chrome browser won’t record any browsing history.
Note: If you want to start recording your browsing history again, simply follow the above procedure an then uncheck the read-only box.
