How to create a Bootable USB(pendrive) for windows 7 or Vista:

This procedure works for windows 7 and windows vista.

System requirements

Operating System: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32-bit / 64-bit) or Windows 8.

Note: For Windows XP users  Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and  Microsoft Image Mastering API v2 applications must be installed.

Requirements:

  1. A pen drive( USB device):

You need a pen drive of minimum 4 GB size. Make sure that it is empty otherwise the data will be erased.

  1. Windows 7/Vista ISO file:

  1. Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool:

You can download this file from Microsoft site for free. Click on the following link to download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool,

Procedure:

Step 1: Install the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool.

101Click on Install 

 

102Click on Finish

 

103Step 2: Run the program.

104Step 3: Following window will open.

USBStep 4: Click on browse and locate the windows 7/vista image file.

105Step 5: Click next.

106Step 6: Click on USB device.

107Step 7: Click on Begin copying.

108Step 8: It will take approximately 15 minutes to finish the process.

109That’s it your USB is now bootable. You can now install OS using this USB.
